Bobby Roberts is highly passionate about baseball. His playing career started at 9 years old when his father/coach tossed him a catchers mitt and said “catch some pitches from me son”.
Bobby played at North Hardin High School in Radcliff, KY and decided to go the JUCO route into college on advice from professional scouts, most notably, the Cleveland Indians.
At St. Catharine Junior College Bobby batted .454 and hit 7 home runs as a Freshman starting catcher, earning him an all conference selection. That summer, while playing in a competitive league, he had discussions with the University of Louisville head baseball coach who invited him to walk on to the team in the fall. After more MLB tryouts ended, Bobby did not sign and decided to go to the University of Louisville. Due to a lingering injury his dream to play professionally came to an end that fall.
Bobby’s passion for the game never ended. He wants to work with kids and eventually help them see their dreams come true. He now has an interest in Louisville’s newest indoor facility and is a coach in Kentucky’s largest travel baseball organization.
